Comparing abortion to prostitution

in

Another legislator made headlines when he “compared abortion to prostitution”. This time in Idaho.

Except that he did no such thing. Since pro-aborts love to talk about “choice”, he was challenging them on that shallow platitude.  If “choice” is the issue, then you must support the choice to be a prostitute? I would add some others such as:

the choice to molest children

the choice to rape someone

the choice to beat your spouse

The list goes on and on.

Of course, the point is that “choice” is irrelevant without discussing what's being chosen. Some choices are wrong and should be illegal. Just chanting “choice” is only an attempt to avoid rational discussion. Since the pro-abortion view doesn’t stand up under rational scrutiny, it makes sense that pro-aborts want to avoid such a discussion. It’s better for them to hide behind platitudes.

The ACLU’s response that prostitution is illegal and abortion is not illegal completely misses the point. But that was their point.

Even though Rep Mendive wasn’t comparing abortion to prostitution, I will do the honors. Both prostitution and abortion are degrading to women and to everyone involved. Both should be illegal.
