Obama White House: Unborn Babies are Persons (if they will be visiting us soon)

Washington, D.C. — An official communication from the White House has revealed that the Obama administration’s policy is to identify and register unborn babies for upcoming tour groups.

In the email, released by the National Right to Life, Ellie Schafer, director of the White House’s visitors office, writes: “We have received a number of calls regarding how to security information for a baby that has not yet been born. Crazy as it may sound, you MUST include the baby in the overall count of guests in the tour. It’s an easy process.”

The revelation prompted the former presidential candidate and Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann to tweet: “The White House Visitors Office recognizes #personhood of unborn babies yet its occupant doesn’t?”

Bachmann’s tweet references President Obama’s unfettered support for abortion and disregard for the rights of the unborn. As a state Senator in Illinois, Obama opposed a bill that would have provided protections and required medical care for babies post-birth who had survived abortion. The President has gone on record opposing legislation that would recognize the full personhood rights of the unborn.

“Obama and his staff are simply running into a logistical problem that their world view presents,” said Keith Mason, President of Personhood USA. “On the one hand, they are forced to recognize that a unique, living human person exists, and on the other, they must deny the recognition of that person’s rights in law so they can continue to be killed in secret.”

The White House email instructs new parents to provide information such as first, middle and last name; date of birth; gender; and address of the unborn baby. Secret Service spokesman Max Milien told the Washington Times that every person must be registered “regardless of age.” The policy “serves as a placeholder,” he said. It helps “to expedite the process” of allowing a recently born child to tour with his or her family.

Douglas Johnson, National Right to Life legislative director added, “Notably, the newsletter provides no guidance on what the staff should do if an unborn baby is first registered for security purposes, but then aborted.”

“There’s no denying that the human entity that exists in the womb is a member of our species. Even the pro-abortion White House is forced to refer to preborn human beings as ‘babies,’” continued Mason. “There is a solution for the President’s muddled hypocrisy—equal rights. As Martin Luther King, Jr. said, ‘The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.’ The nation is moving in the right direction.”
